Feels like Fall…

I know I probably shouldn’t be talking about the fall as it is clearly still summertime and I should appreciate it because autumn in New York lasts for about 20 minutes before turning straight into winter.  That said, I’ve noticed over the past week a small dip in temperatures, especially in the morning, and I can’t help but think about orange leaves, peacoats, ankle and riding boots, and of course, FALL ROAD TRIPS!  New York is awesome because it’s such a gateway city to some beautiful fall destinations…the only problem is, most New Yorkers don’t have a car!  I’m planning to overcome this obstacle somehow (haven’t figured it out yet) because I have only two more states in the Northeast to check off my list – Vermont and New Hampshire – and I’ve heard that they both happen to be gorgeous in the fall.  Fall festivals rank high on my list of “favorite things in the world” and I’m thinking the below festivals look interesting:

Hampton Beach Seafood Festival: September 7-9, Hampton, NH

Vermont Life Wine and Harvest Festival: September 21-23, Wilmington, VT

New Hampshire Fish & Lobster Festival: September 21-23, Portsmouth, NH

Killington Brewfest: September 29-30, Killington, VT

The Giant Pumpkin Regatta & Festival: October 6-8, Burlington, VT

Cranberry Harvest Celebration: October 6-8,Wareham, MA

Mystic Seaport Chowder Days: October 6-8, Mystic, CT

Boston Local Food Festival: October 6-8, Boston, MA

I’ll definitely post more festivals as we get closer to fall but how awesome do those look? Are you planning any fall road trips this year? Where? Leave me a comment below!

P.S. One very real inspiration for this post, besides the slight change in weather was the fact that I recently received my fall J. Crew catalogue and I LOVE fall clothing.  This outfit is so cute it makes me want to scream!
